Creating Omnichannel Automations

Omnichannel Series Automations let you create complex sequences of messages to deliver to audience members based on the properties that have at the time the message is sent. You can set delays, send different messages types and transfer audience members to another series if certain conditions are met.

Creating the Series

To get started, you'll need to create a series. Go to " Automate > Omnichannel Series" in Sendlio.

Next, click the " Add a Series" button.

This will create a new, blank series.

Setting Entry Criteria

The next step is to set the entry criteria for your series.Criteria is determined by setting which conditions a member must meet to be eligible for the series. If a member does not meet all the criteria, they will not be added.  If you don't set criteria, all members will be considered eligible for the campaign.

To set the entry criteria, click the " Audience Entry Criteria" section.

This will trigger a modal where you can add different conditions you'd like the member to meet.

Click " Add Criteria" to add a condition.

You can set as many conditions as you'd like. Once you are done, close the modal and return to the series overview.

Adding Messages

The next step will be to add your messages. Click the '+' icon on the bottom to add a message.

You will then be prompted for what type of message you'd like to add. Click the one you'd prefer.

You will then see the message as been added as a step in your series. You can double-click the title to rename the message, set a delay, or edit the message in the editor. Additionally, you can set audience criteria for this message.

If a member in the series comes to this step and does not meet the criteria, then they will not receive the message. They will still continue onto the next steps in the series as scheduled.

Transfer / Eject Steps

You may have noticed that there is a fourth option to choose from when adding steps to your series.

Transfer /  Eject blocks allow you to set certain criteria that, if met, will eject a member from the current series or transfer them over to a new series. If the conditions are not met, then they will pass through this step and onto the next step in the series as scheduled.

Multivariate Testing

You will find that when sending many messages to many different recipients, certain messages, layouts or communication channels work better than others. Sendlio lets you perform split tests, a/b tests, and multivariate tests with unlimited variations.

To setup a mutlivariate test, go to the series you'd like to test and click the '+' icon at the top right of the sequence.

This will duplicate the entire sequence - you can edit the duplicate without affecting the original sequence.

You'll see the percentages above each sequence. These represent the proportion of assignments each will get when adding members.

Scheduling Your Series

By default, every series will be disabled to start When you are ready to go live, you have two options for how a series can run.

Fluid Sending will add members to the series over time, as they meet the entry criteria. This is a good option for things like a welcome series or other communication where the timing is specific to the individual member.

Schedule Once will add all members in Sendlio who meet the critera at the scheduled time. This is great if you already have your members in Sendlio and want to promote something where timing is shared between all members, like a promotion or an event.

Once you select a mode, the series will be live.
